Srinagar, Jul 19 (KNO): The mainstream political parties of Jammu and Kashmir including Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Apni Party have entered into a verbal brawl after the former minister Syed Altaf Bukhari called for a united fight amongst the mainstream parties against the government moves. Altaf Bukhari had appealed to the parties to join hands to safeguard the interests of the residents of Jammu and Kashmir after the government’s recent move of giving additional powers to the Lieutenant Governor. However, turning down the suggestions from Bukhari, the PDP General Secretary Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura has said that let the AP president Syed Altaf Bukhari seek apology first from the people for his role post Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. As per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Lone said that it was Altaf Bukhari who claimed high and tall about securing the jobs and land for the people of Jammu and Kashmir all alone, but now what was the need for him to fight unitedly. He said that Bukhari should tender an apology before the people of Jammu & Kashmir for his role after the abrogation of Article 370 here in August 2019. However, Apni Party senior leader, Muntazir Mohi-ud-din has reacted to his statement, saying that some people for their vested interests are trying to give excuses. “We have not made any claims in the air, but have spoken whatever has been done by the party,” he said. He added that for what reasons the party has to seek apology, is it because it has safeguarded the interests of people by securing jobs, lands, ensuring the return of people from outside states during covid or other things. “We don’t want to highlight the mistakes of anyone. It was the time to unite for safeguarding the interests,” he added—(KNO)
